Mrs. Hamamcy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), with special interest and training in areas of marriage and relationships, separation and divorce, parent-child relationship, postpartum depression and women's issues. Mrs. Hamamcy is native of Houston, Texas and earned her undergraduate degree at Trinity University in San Antonio and her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at St. Mary's University in San Antonio.
Mrs. Hamamcy has worked with adults, children/adolescents and couples with a variety of issues and severity. She has conducted groups for kids, adolescents, and adults dealing with issues such as trauma, family and relationship stress, substance abuse issues, and behavioral & emotional disorders.
Her prior work experience includes work with families and adolescents involved in the Juvenile Justice System dealing with issues that include chronic runaway, truancy, substance abuse/dependence, self-abusive behaviors, family and relationship stress. She has additionally worked with various schools in Austin and San Antonio providing individual and family counseling to children and their families.
In her private practice, she conducts individual, couples and family therapy, which includes practice with adults, adolescents and children. Her experience areas include depression, anxiety, childhood behavioral and mental disorders, marital/relationship distress and life transitions. Mrs. Hamamcy is a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
